The objective of the Scheme is to assign short term tasks/projects/studies useful
and relevant to NABARD, to talented students pursuing post-graduate degree
(completing/completed first year) in Agriculture and allied disciplines
(Veterinary, Fisheries, etc.), Agri-business, Economics, Agri-economics, Social
Sciences and Management from Institutes/ Universities of repute or students
pursuing 5 year integrated courses completing/completed 4th year of their course.
Indian students studying abroad are also eligible for SIS 2025-26.
The scheme is expected to provide valuable feedback with a fresh perspective
through studies/projects undertaken by the students on themes of interest to
NABARD.
(A) Total Seats
Total number of seats for NABARD SIS 2025-26 is 39 (34 seats for Regional
Offices/TEs and 05 seats for Head Office). Each RO/TE will be allocated only 01
seat under SIS 2025-26. On the request of Manipur RO, no online applications
will be sourced from it on account of unfavourable law and order situation

(B) Broad Themes/Areas
The broad objective of SIS 2025-26 will be to examine topics of contemporary
relevance as well as to assess/gauge the impact of various NABARD interventions
at the ground level. The SIS 2025-26 will also serve as an exercise for
documentation of success stories of NABARD’s
projects/programmes/schemes/activities at the field level.
To ensure that we have a decent number of reports on a particular topic so that we
can draw reasonable insights, all interns selected under SIS 2025-26 will be
required to study one of the following four NABARD interventions only:
a. NWRS Financing to farmers – Issues and Utilisation
b. NBFCs Financing in rural areas – Coverage and Issues
c. Tenant Farmers – Nature of tenancy, Challenges & Bottlenecks
